Art Supply Swap

Here's the thing about being a crafter: the possibilities are endless! And if you're anything like me, you love to store supplies "just in case". Running out of room? Want to be able to justify starting a new hobby? Then look no further! This is the perfect place to donate your unwanted supplies and find a fresh new project to dive into!

How Does It Work?

Donate craft supplies and tools you think someone may be able to find a use for. You can either drop off your donations the week prior to an event- our lovely friends at Royale Cinema Lounge have graciously agreed to host and we will have a donation bin set up inside- or just bring your donations with you when you come to the swap meet!

Once a month we will have an event where everyone can come "shop" for free and pick out whatever they think might aid them in their next project! (Please, no resellers. This event is for artists and makers in the Joplin and surrounding areas.) Anything that is leftover will be stored for the next swap, donated, or recycled. There is no charge for supplies! We want this to be accessible to our community regardless of income level.

What can we bring to swap?

This swap is about usable crafting and art making materials and supplies. Bring clean, new or gently used craft supplies donations including but not limited to:

Fabric & Sewing: fabric, sewing notions, thread, trim/binding, zippers, buttons, quilting/sewing, machines. Leave your cut up t-shirts, stuffing from your sofa, old pillows, or clothing at home.

Fiber & Needlework: yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks, stitch counters, thread, patterns, kits, counted cross stitch, embroidery supplies, hoops, floss

Drawing & Paint: inks, pencils, paints, brushes (clean), graphite, pastels, erasers, chalks, charcoals, markers

Canvas & Paper: canvas, watercolor paper, drawing paper, scratch boards, panels, sketchbooks, construction paper, newsprint

Beads & Jewelry: Beads & beading supplies, jewelry making supplies and tools

Crafts & Hobbies: containers of all sorts, artificial flowers, foam, felt, scrapbooking supplies, card-making supplies, rubber stamps, usable ink pads, embossing tools/heat tools, useable children’s crafts (kits or supplies), decorative containers/baskets for floral arrangements, small wood cutouts (unpainted), craft foam sheets or shapes, stencils, leather and leather scraps, bookmaking supplies

Tools (in clean, working order): scissors, glue guns, soldering irons, craft knives, hole punches, easels, photo equipment, pottery tools, rulers

Frames: Picture frames (empty), shadow boxes, framing supplies

Books & Patterns: art/craft instruction books, art/craft magazines, patterns, and store bought crafting kits, instructional craft books and pattern books, clothing, doll clothing, home décor

General Supplies: glue, tape, butcher paper, sandpaper, cotton swabs, toothpicks, popsicle sticks, google eye

Clay: clay, clay tools or equipment

Please Don’t Bring

Please don’t bring items that need repair (items that cannot be used immediately and without rehabilitation as a crafting material, supply, or tool).
Please don't bring anything moldy, dirty, or smelly
Leave super heavy items at home.
Leave hazardous materials in your garage, including oil-based solvents, house paint, dry paint tubes.
